- Recommended use
- Machine tapping
A 3/8" spiral-flute tap for cutting stud hole threads in horseshoes. The spiral flute geometry draws swarf up and out of the hole as the thread is cut, which makes this pattern particularly well suited to machine tapping - it clears chips quickly and reduces the risk of binding compared with a straight-flute hand tap. A practical addition to the van for farriers who tap stud holes with a cordless drill or dedicated machine tapper rather than by hand, keeping threading fast and clean on a busy shoeing round.
