The 3rd Millennium Race Spider Plate is a 3mm thick aluminium heel and frog support plate designed for use with Kerckhaert Kings race plates and Diamond alu rivets. It is a valuable option for treating weak heels, sheared heels and corns, and more generally for providing support to the back of the hoof capsule on horses in race work. The plate can also be used to apply frog support, helping to re-establish normal physiology in the caudal foot. It is riveted onto an aluminium race plate or steel Extra Sound: the farrier drills through the shoe and plate at the heels for the rivets, then drills through the shoe's nail holes to open matching holes in the aluminium plate. Sold individually; horseshoe not included.
