The ACR 800 Heart Bar is a laminitis shoe for saddle horses, combining frog support with a rolling toe and a hollowed heart. A very wide cast covers the toe so the shoe sits well back on the foot, while two quarter clips support the hoof wall even if a clip is lost. The rolled toe reduces the rear lever arm effect and the seated-out toe avoids pressure on the sole. The branches are tightened at the heel to anticipate the typical laminitic foot shape as the heels drop, and the hollowed heart regulates the distance from heel to heel - a detail that can completely change the geometry between the front and rear of the foot. A 10mm-thick orthopaedic pattern.
