ACR Aluminium Wedge Egg Bar

The ACR Aluminium Wedge Egg Bar is a specialist therapeutic shoe combining the supportive bar of an egg bar with a graduated wedge section that raises the heel relative to the toe. The shoe is graduated from 7mm at the toe to 15mm at the heel, modifying the sagittal angle by approximately two degrees. This heel elevation reduces tension in the deep digital flexor tendon and decreases loading on the navicular apparatus, making the ACR Wedge Egg Bar a practical choice in cases of tendinitis, podotrochlear syndrome, and other conditions where heel elevation is indicated. The relieved frog area avoids excessive direct frog pressure while still providing the lateral support and heel coverage that the egg bar format delivers. Manufactured in aluminium for a lighter weight than equivalent steel therapeutic shoes, making it a well-considered option for horses requiring corrective shoeing with minimal additional shoe weight.
