The ACR 335 Wedge Balance builds a 3-degree heel wedge into the shoe itself, with thickness increasing from 12mm at the toe to 16mm at the heel and strongly bevelled heels. Combined with an appropriate trim it lets the farrier change and adjust the palmar angle without pads, while slight rockering forward of the quarters shifts the breakover point back towards the foot's centre of pressure and dynamises breakover at the end of stance. By raising the heels 3 degrees the shoe relieves the deep flexor apparatus both at rest and in movement, particularly on hard or compact ground, making it eminently suitable for horses showing discomfort on DIP joint extension. The wide web gives good sole protection, and the design accepts additional bevelling or seating out of the toe to further enhance breakover dynamics. For jumping, dressage and eventing.
