Dallmer (B) Toe Extension Club Foot Foal Cuffs

Dallmer (B) Toe Extension foal cuffs are orthopaedic glue-on cuffs designed for conservative club foot therapy in foals. The protruding toe section extends the toe of the club-footed hoof simply and without fuss, increasing the length of breakover while the cuff encloses both the front and lateral walls in a crescent shape to protect the toe against excessive wear. Club foot cuffs work in both a mechanical and an orthopaedic sense, and the Dallmer system allows treatment to begin early without nailing into an immature hoof. For fitting, a fast-setting adhesive such as Vettec SuperFast is recommended: it holds the cuff within around 30 seconds and fully hardens within two to three minutes, keeping fitting time to a minimum. Important: due to the rapid horn growth of a foal, the cuffs should not remain glued to the hoof for longer than three weeks. Sizes are measured as the width of the hoof at its widest point: size 0 is 55mm, size 1 is 75mm and size 2 is 90mm. Supplied as a pair.
