Dallmer (BK) Raised Toe Club Foot Foal Cuffs

The Dallmer (BK) Raised Toe Club Foot Foal Cuff is designed for conservative club foot therapy in young foals. In the first year of life a foal may develop an abnormally steep phalanx in one or both front hooves, breaking the lateral digit axis at the coffin and pastern joints; in rapid cases the foal stands on the tip of a convexly bending toe. The BK cuff makes it possible to raise and extend the toe quickly and easily, helping the heels to meet the ground as required. As a cuff it encloses the front and lateral walls in a crescent shape, protecting the hoof against excessive wear during treatment. For fitting, Vettec SuperFast 210 cc adhesive is recommended - it holds the cuff within 30 seconds and fully hardens within 2-3 minutes, keeping fitting time to a minimum. Because of the rapid horn growth of young foals, the cuffs should not remain glued to the hoof for longer than three weeks, as leaving them on longer can cause the feet to become contracted. Sizing is by width at the widest point: size 1 (75 mm) and size 2 (90 mm).
