The Lite grade of Deplano's Italian leather hoof pad range, at 3/3.5 mm the thinnest pad in the line-up. It offers sole and frog protection with minimal added depth under the shoe, making it the choice where a full-thickness pad is not wanted. DePlano have been making leather pads since 1987 in Faenza, Italy, sourcing hides from Emilia-Romagna tanneries with a century-old tradition. The leather is vegetable-tanned with natural tannins extracted from tree bark and air-dried, strictly avoiding synthetic fats and adulterants. This traditional plant-based tannage gives the pads their breathable character, allowing the hoof to breathe naturally while the pad stays durable in work. Lite pads are produced in medium and large as well as numbered sizes 4-6.
