EDSS Aluminium PLR Bar Shoes

The EDSS Natural Balance PLR (Performance Leverage Reduction) Bar shoe is the next generation in aluminium performance and treatment footwear, adding a bar to the proven PLR design for cases needing extra caudal support. Modern imaging has highlighted strain and lesions of the DDFT and the connective tissue around the coffin (DIP) joint as a growing concern in performance horses, particularly those turning and running in tight circles. Bringing the breakover point of the shoe within a set proximity of the centre of articulation - and reducing leverage medially and laterally as well - has proven highly beneficial both as a treatment protocol and as a preventive measure. The optimised leverage reduction of the PLR Bar makes it a superior tool for treating and preventing lameness while improving performance. Sizes run 000 to 5, measured as width at the widest point: 000 = 4 1/4", 00 = 4 1/2", 0 = 4 3/4", 1 = 5", 2 = 5 1/4", 3 = 5 1/2", 4 = 5 3/4", 5 = 6".
