EDSS Aluminium Natural Balance Horseshoes

The EDSS Aluminium Natural Balance shoe brings the patented NBS design to a forged aluminium alloy, heat treated for added hardness - a light yet durable shoe for optimal performance with minimal stress. The design, together with EDSS's suggested hoof preparation guidelines, helps orient the shoe correctly to the coffin bone and prevent hoof capsule distortion. It is a wide-web shoe with an arched, rolled toe that lets the horse find its own preferred breakover point. The toe area is seated out on the foot side to eliminate sole contact beneath the tip of P3, and the reinforced toe section carries extra mass for wear. With no wear plate in the shoe, the toe can wear back naturally as the foot grows in length. Steep shoulders between the heels hold ground material in the caudal region, providing support to the frog and digital cushion. Sizes run 00 to 4, measured as width at the widest point: 00 = 4 1/2", 0 = 4 3/4", 1 = 5", 2 = 5 1/4", 3 = 5 1/2", 4 = 5 3/4".
