The EDSS Steward Clog is one of the most versatile and helpful tools for treating and rehabilitating laminitic horses. Originally designed in wood by Dr Mike Steward, the clogs are now produced in durable urethane and can be applied in whichever way suits the case: nailed, screwed, glued, or cast directly to the foot with Equicast casting tape. Combined with EDSS/TFP impression material, they have revolutionised laminitis hoof care. The leverage reduction gained from the clog's design makes it effective across a wide range of lameness problems: laminitis, founder, rotation, sinking, ringbone, pastern and coffin joint arthritis, coffin joint disease, and collateral ligament strain. Sold in pairs in four sizes measured by width at the widest point: 4.5", 5", 5.5" and 6". Actual width may be up to 1/8" smaller than listed due to moulding shrinkage - if an exact width is critical, consider the next size up. The toe-to-heel measurement is about 1/4" longer than the width. Fixing screws are available on request.
