Equicast EVA Leather Laminitis Shoes are clog-style therapeutic shoes that combine a leather rim pad with an EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) base. The design lets the horse adjust both the hoof surface and ground surface at the same time, alleviating leverage forces, reducing pain and providing shock absorption while the foot recovers. They are suited to the treatment of chronic, mild and acute cases of laminitis, and are also useful for improving flat feet and managing sole pain and discomfort associated with thin soles. The leather-on-EVA construction allows simple angle modification where required, and the shoes are secured to the foot using hoof casting bandages for a reliable attachment without nails. Soft impression material can be added under the sole and frog to improve frog pressure, circulation and stability depending on the individual case. Available in eight sizes from 4 1/4" to 6" width.
