Equicast EVA Wood Laminitis Shoes

The Equicast EVA Wood Laminitis Shoe is based on the well-known laminitis clog design and is regarded as one of the best options for the laminitic case, giving the equine patient the best chance of a full recovery. The wood portion provides protection and medio-lateral stability on the hoof side, while the cushioned EVA ground surface can be easily modified - and is continually self-adjusted by the horse through movement and weight bearing - to the most comfortable stance and angle. The blend of EVA's shock absorption with the mechanical advantages of leverage reduction is highly effective at reducing pain-reactive forces, and movement with minimal pain benefits every aspect of the horse's wellbeing. The shoe comes complete with 1/8" of sole relief cut out to accommodate a prolapsed sole, plus a leather rim piece for even more clearance, making it suitable for resection cases and severe medial-lateral sinkers. Attachment is with Equicast hoof casting bandages, and EDSS/TFP impression material can be added under the shoe in the less painful rear third of the foot to improve frog pressure, circulation and stability.
