Equisoft Plus First Aid Support Pads

Equisoft Plus pads are pre-cut, hoof-shaped foam support pads designed as an instant first aid measure for horses and ponies with laminitis, or as basic protection for sore, bruised or damaged feet. Developed in response to requests for larger and thicker versions of the original Equisoft pads, the Plus range covers four hoof-shaped sizes and thicknesses to suit different foot sizes and bodyweights. The pads are simple to apply: select a pad slightly larger than the hoof (trimming down with scissors if needed), add any packing to the back half of the foot, then tape the pad in place and wrap the whole hoof securely. They can be used on their own for basic comfort, combined with Magic Cushion to help relieve heat and bruising, or with impression material for extra frog support in laminitis cases, and can be stacked for additional thickness. Fixing is easiest with purpose-made styrofoam black tape. Sizes run from Small (115mm wide x 16mm thick) through Medium (128mm x 19mm) and Large (137mm x 24mm) to Extra Large (169mm x 30mm), measured at the widest point. Pads are sold individually - a sensible item to keep in the van or first aid kit for emergency call-outs where comfort and support are needed in a hurry.
