GDM Clench Groover

The GDM Clench Groover is a hand tool used to cut a clean groove in the hoof wall beneath each nail, allowing the clench to be seated flush for a tidy, secure finish. Grooving the wall before clenching helps the clench bed down neatly and reduces the risk of raised clenches catching or lifting between shoeings. Made by GDM, whose forging hammers, stamps and knives are well established in the farriery trade, the groover is available in right-hand and left-hand patterns so farriers can work comfortably around both sides of the foot.
