HMS Flat Bar in 7/8" x 3/8" (22mm x 10mm) section is quality mild steel bar stock for farriers who hand-make horseshoes or fabricate specialist therapeutic shoes at the forge. Supplied in 6ft (1.7mm) lengths, each bar provides sufficient material for multiple shoes depending on the horse size and shoe design. Hand-making shoes allows the farrier complete control over the profile, weight, and geometry of the finished shoe, which is essential when fitting horses with unusual conformation, therapeutic requirements, or when a machine-made shoe simply does not exist in the required specification. HMS bar stock is manufactured to consistent tolerances for predictable behaviour at the forge. The 7/8" x 3/8" section is suited to medium-section shoes for sport horses and general riding horses.
