Hypozin Care is a zinc oxide based skin ointment containing a far higher concentration of zinc oxide than standard zinc ointment (which is typically around 10%). The zinc oxide has a drying, slightly astringent action and protects the skin against the effects of body fluids such as urine and faeces in the stable, while also resisting algae and fungus and providing a disinfecting effect. The formulation uses demineralised water to prevent unwanted reactions and reduce the risk of bacterial spoilage, with glycerine added for a smoothing and soothing effect on the skin. Each injector contains 100 grams of product, sufficient for around three to four weeks of regular application. Note this is the skin-care variant of Hypozin and is distinct from the Hypozin thrush treatment for the hoof.
