The JH Forge Spud hoof knife with pick is designed specifically for farriers and trimmers who struggle with carpal tunnel or tendon issues. Its deeper curved blade keeps the wrist straight while working, adding strength to each cut and putting far less strain on the arm when tackling hard hooves - the angled blade and resulting arm position make it a popular choice among farriers and vets managing repetitive strain problems. Like all JH Forge knives, it is handmade from hardened tool steel and hand sharpened, with a built-in hoof pick that lets you clean out the foot and exfoliate the sole with the one tool. The knives were developed by Jim, a farrier of more than 30 years, and have become a firm favourite with farriers, hoof trimmers and veterinarians.
