The Jim Blurton Flatter is made from S1 air-hardening tool steel and is designed to flatten and level all types of shoes, from concave through to flat bar. The larger body of this flatter allows better dissipation of heat when working on very large shoes, and the generous head makes it ideal for use with a striker. The 16-inch handle keeps the user's hand well away from the hot steel and is made from high-quality hickory. Part of the Jim Blurton forging tool range designed by the 2005 World Champion Farrier.
