The Jim Blurton Wedged Bar is a graduated frog support front shoe with a three degree wedge, designed to assist in realigning the hoof-pastern axis. The set-down bar makes it easy to fit on feet with a prominent frog, and used with a soft pad material such as Vettec it is an ideal shoe for caudal lameness cases. The shoe offers a more stable platform than a wedge pad, increasing stability and reducing flex in the foot. It has a bolder, rounder shape well suited to flat-footed horses, incorporates a roll toe, and is safed off at the heels. Side clips are standard, stud holes come pre-drilled, and the pitched nail holes - unique to the Jim Blurton range - provide a different angle for each nail, making nailing on easier. Developed and tested at Jim Blurton's forge in Mid Wales as part of his remedial horseshoe range. Sizes measured at the widest point: 000 = 4 1/2", 00 = 4 3/4", 0 = 5", 1 = 5 1/4", 2 = 5 1/2", 3 = 5 3/4", 4 = 6", 5 = 6 1/4".
