The elliptical profile makes it easy to work both straight and curved blades, including loop and drop-blade knives, quickly and consistently between horses. The ergonomically designed plastic handle features a guard that prevents your hand sliding forward over the blade while sharpening, an important safety consideration when honing a knife at speed on the job. For best results and a long service life, Mustad recommend using the sharpener only on dry, fat-free knives, as oil and grease will clog the diamond-coated sharpening surface.
