The Mustad Pritchel is manufactured from high quality, air-hardened steel, giving it the toughness needed for repeated punching of nail holes at the anvil. It is a dependable everyday pritchel from one of the most trusted names in farriery tooling. The tool is designed to be used at lower working temperatures, below 500°C. Mustad advise that maintenance should be carried out by forging rather than grinding, as grinding risks structural damage to the hardened steel and can shorten the life of the tool.
