PM hoof pads, designed by Michael Puhl, are engineered to improve stance, optimise load distribution across the hoof and facilitate the natural functioning of the equine foot. A distinctive recessed frog area sets them apart from standard pads: it accommodates horses with proud frogs and helps retain impression material in place under the pad. They are used in a wide range of remedial work, including the treatment and prevention of navicular syndrome, regeneration of under-run and contracted heels, correction of the hoof-pastern axis, and - in combination with soft impression material - the treatment of laminitis and sole sensitivity. By enlarging the weight-bearing area they also help restore hoof balance. The large size (177 mm at the widest point) is available in both wedge and flat; the small size (150 mm) is available in wedge only.
