The Scott Austin Edens signature anvil is a 200lb farrier's anvil machined and heat treated in-house by Scott Anvils to guarantee the highest quality. The 4 1/4" horn has a true taper from body to tip, and the corners of the table are tapered back to keep them out of the way when working on the horn. The hardie hole sits closer to the body of the anvil so you are working more over the centre of mass, and two ledges — one each side of the face — give a good crisp 90-degree edge for heel calks, ag heels and clips. The underside of the heel is V-shaped, allowing more clearance when working a branch on the face: you can push the toe bend closer to the anvil without the other branch catching underneath, while the V shape keeps the heel strong. Scott recommend dressing the face edges with a slight radius to prevent chipping from daily use and missed blows.
