Sovereign Green is a dual-action polishing compound that cuts and colours in a single stage, making it a useful all-rounder for general polishing work in the forge or workshop. It is most commonly used as the second process on hard metals such as steel, bridging the gap between initial cutting and final finishing. In a typical three-stage polishing sequence it follows a grey cutting compound and precedes a white finishing compound. It performs best with a close-stitched white polishing mop, though a sisal mop can be used where one is not available. Supplied as a generous 800g bar, it is an economical choice for farriers polishing tools, knives and forged work.
