The Visani Asymmetric Front is an Italian-made sports and therapeutic shoe built with one wide branch and one narrow branch featuring a chased inner rim. The design corrects footfall asymmetry and limits extra-sagittal movement, making it a valuable option where collateral ligament strain is a concern. The wide branch protects the collateral ligaments on that side of the foot, reducing the risk of lesions, while the narrow branch relieves the subchondral bone. Farriers should note that the design increases ligament loading and joint pressure on the side opposite the wide branch, so careful case selection and placement are important. Suited to dressage, show jumping, three-day eventing and endurance horses, this shoe bridges sports shoeing and remedial work in a single ready-made pattern.
