The Visani Square Toe Heart Bar is an orthopaedic shoe combining a heart bar with a rolled square toe and a hollowed heart plate, designed with laminitis cases in mind. The square toe allows the shoe to be set well back on the foot, reducing the flexor leverage arm, while the heart plate provides frog support. Two quarter clips support the hoof wall - a useful safeguard where toe clips cannot be used - and the rolled toe eases breakover. When fitting, additional seating out should be added around the toe to avoid pressure on the sole. A ready-made option for laminitis and other cases requiring frog support with reduced toe leverage on saddle horses.
