Werkman Ortho-Kit Inserts

Individual weld-in inserts for the Werkman Ortho-Kit system, supplied as refill sets so farriers who already run the Orthokit 1.0 or 2.0 can restock the specific patterns they use most. Each insert is welded into a standard Werkman horseshoe to convert it into the required therapeutic shoe. The insert range covers the Orthokit 1.0 patterns - egg bar, heart bar, straight bar, straight bar performance, wide toe and wide branch - together with the Orthokit 2.0 patterns: Z-bar, central bar, spider plate and lateral extension. Werkman's refill sets are supplied per insert type in a choice of sizes, packed 20 pieces to a set. The Ortho-Kit system was developed from scientific research led by Dr. Jenny Hagen at the Veterinary-Anatomical Institute of Leipzig University, examining how shoeing modifications affect load distribution, bearing area, gait and phalangeal orientation.
